after you come to the seashore you need to choose to stop or to swim...
swimming isn't walking so you can cheat anyone but yourself...
only walking -- no...
walking and swimming -- yes...

They say the Lost Legions of Rome walked to China. If a defeated Army could walk there close to a thousand years ago across the desert after losing the battle, yea you should be able to.

Yes that´s what our ancestors did millions of years ago. With the tunnel connecting England and France, you dont need swimming.

Distance from Cromwell, England to Beijing is roughly 5,000 miles (give or take). It's possible to walk it, but you would need several things.

1. Excellent physical stamina. Swimming the Channel alone requires skill and energy. The average person in outstanding shape could walk an average of 15 miles a day while carrying a properly fitted backpack. That means 333 days to walk this . . . never stopping to stay a day in a single location. And that's if the distance is "only" 5,000 miles.

2. Travel team. Who will carry your passport and "basic camping equipment" while you are swimming across the Channel?

3. Along with that passport, you will need a minimum of two travel visas, Russia and China. This is if you follow the Transiberian Railway Route (http://www.seat61.com/Trans-Siberian.htm). However, if you were to shorten your journey to reach only the western side of China, then you would need visas for other countries as well (Kazakhstan and Mongolia pop into mind. I don't know about the Ukraine and Poland.

4. Money. You say you have no money, but what do you plan on living on during this journey? Air and goodwill?

5. Proper clothing and footwear. Need I say more? You'll need to be able to weather all kinds of adverse conditions.

You might want to check out this post on cycling from China to the UK . . . and 18 month journey.

Of course possible, with 100 pairs of shoes in your luggage.
I think there is not ppl at all in lots of areas where you will pass by. So money is useless, but you should take tons of provision.

I think you d' better give up, for the cause that you can not go across the desert area of central Asia even if you reached there, water scarcity would be a big threat to you life. or you must take hundreds gallon of water with you, but how can you carry it?

Theoretically it is possible to walk to China. You will need numerous travel visas, a GPS system, excellent maps, and must carry about 1,000 pounds of food and 2,000 gallons of water.

"Possible", but not practical. How are you going to eat with no money?
There will also be problems when you enter another country on foot. You'd probably be refused to enter without money and a reason to be there. If you told them "I'm walking to China", you'd probably be arrested and sent back home.BTW,Russian police have no sense of humor.
And how will you know what direction you're walking? You also need a reason to enter China.Work / school...Otherwise they will arrest you too.
